Newbie Blog Step Three: Watch some videos

Thanks for visiting road2blogging.com, if you like what you've read, then please subscribe to the RSS feed, or RSS by Email to stay on top of recent news and postings from the blog.

Today is the third step in the Newbie Blog Step series for Newbie Bloggers.  I’ve been watching a lot of videos lately and have learnt quite a lot from them.  What I think people should do today is watch the videos (even if you have before) and have a notepad next to you when you do; you need to note down what the summary of the video is and what you feel you could learn from it.

I think the following videos are great at explaining the ideas and basis for what blogs are based on.  You might find the videos a little overwhelming, or you may find them a little boring (because you’ve already watched them) but in either case I can nearly guarantee that you will learn something from them.  I got some of the videos over at spoongraphics.

Newbies – you will learn what the videos are discussing and some basics on each of the areas.

Established bloggers – you may have watched these videos before, but how about you look at these videos as a tool to how you can improve your videos?

Video 1 – What is a blog? – video by commoncraft

Video 2 – GrayWolf’s SEO blog – how to optimize your blog for the search engines

Video 3  –  Matt Cutts talks about Snippets

Video 4  –  RSS in Plain English from Commoncraft

Video 5  –  Establishing a blog with an RSS subscriber base from Commoncraft

Video 6  –  Commoncraft – How to spread your blog’s content by using Social Media

So, that is a run down of the videos I think have helped me and are helping me run my blogs.  If you’re not new to blogging and are looking for some more in-depth videos then tubetorial has 7 essential wordpress hacks on video – I’ve just been through these and they are great for bloggers.

There we have step three of watching some videos of blogging; tomorrow I will be showing you the different types of blogging software and how to get setup on a free blog account.  If you liked this post, then don’t forget to subscribe to the RSS feed for newbie bloggers.

Thanks Sly. These videos really helped me last year so I thought if one newbie learns something from them by reading them here, then I’ve done something right.
