From Newbie to Problogger in 24 months

Thanks for visiting road2blogging.com, if you like what you've read, then please subscribe to the RSS feed, or RSS by Email to stay on top of recent news and postings from the blog.

RoadThe start of something new, for me anyway, is about to happen.  I’m going to start the path of blogging for serious monetary gain and self promotion.  Currently I’ve been ‘playing’ at blogging and looking for an in-road into creating something for others to read and subscribe to.  I’ve been blogging for over a month at www.road2graduation.com and have now decided I want to ‘take the plunge’ and see if I can monetize a blog on making money, as well as become a semi-problogger/problogger in just 24 months.

I believe this will be possible and chose the domain road2blogging.com as I felt people would be able to relate to my journey into the blogosphere and what happened to me along the way.  My challenge is pretty hard for me as I have limited experience of blogging, I’m not a tech guy and not that clever with html either.  I’m just a regular guy that wants to make a footprint in the blogosphere and pass on some of the information I’ve learnt so far and pass this on, together with my thoughts of happenings around the blogosphere and making money.

The Challenge info

24 months to go from newbie to problogger in 24 months – starting 15th December 2007 (finishing 15th December 2009)

Getting into the top ten of 45n5.com’s 100 money making blogs

Start from no investment (well under $100 anyway) and earn a constant $10,000 a month in the second year of the blog

Become recognised as a referred to blogger and start another two blogs – mooneyblogger.com and allaboutnow.net

Blog full time from the start of January 2009

Why is this challenge different?

I look at many make money online blogs and wonder how they ever got started, some are tech buffs like johnchow.com, whilst others knew nothing when they came to the internet and blogging world such as Darren at problogger.net.

The challenge will test my skills at planning and persuasion, and will hopefully give others the courage, information and ‘get going’ that I got from so many bloggers out there.   I’ll be sharing details from money earnings per month, to stats and great tools you can use on your blog or website – others have blogged about this before, but it’s going to be in my words, my way – people often refer to me as marmite (you either love me, or you hate me prefer not to read my stuff).

Looking into RSS, social media marketing, SEO, how to blog and how to make money online will all be areas I will be looking into, reviewing and evaluating these incites, other blogs and my personal opinions own research will form the content of the blog.

If you are looking for more information about me and my background you’re probably best to read the about page.

Every road goes somewhere – lets hope this one goes where it’s suppose to.  The challenge is set and I’m ready for the off!

Well let me be the first to congratulate you on your goals. I’m sure you will obtain it and even if you don’t make all your goals you should be able to earn some decent income. Blogging is all about consistency. Of course that is easy to say but some times difficult to actually do.

    good luck

    Bruce,

Thanks for the comments and advice. I know the targets set are difficult and achieving them will be one of the hardest things I will ever do, but I’ll always have a go at something once - and try it again and again and again, until I reach it

    Thanks for the comments guys.

@ Teejay - you’ve just got to go for it and take your best shot, that’s going to be my plan

@bloggernoob - thanks for the encouragement - wanted to make the challenge realistic yet with some hard goals to overcome. I think I can do it and I’ve put some planning into it. I keep progress updates to one per month so people know how I’m doing.
